 What is Parent Portal?
Are you concerned about whether or not that orthodontist excuse was turned in to the office?  View Parent Portal attendance records!  Are you curious about your child’s grade on that last Science test?  View Parent Portal grade records!  There will be no surprises on report card day because you will know exactly what grades your child has earned as the grading period progresses.  In addition, you can set up your Parent Portal account to notify you via email if your child receives a failing grade on any assignment in any subject.  

Parents are encouraged to use the “Parent Portal” link located on the Riesel ISD website under the heading “Parents”.  If you have not previously used Parent Portal, please contact your child’s campus office for login information.  Once you have created an account, you have access to your child’s attendance and grades throughout the entire year.  So, don’t delay!  Set up your Parent Portal account today!  Contact Foster Elementary at 896-2297 or Riesel JH/High School at 896-3171.

RIESEL BOARD CALLS BOND FOR NEW SCHOOL
    On February 15, The Riesel ISD Board of Trustees voted to call a bond election for $25 million to build a new JH/HS building where the current baseball field and weight room reside. Voters will decide on May 8th whether Riesel ISD can build the proposed new school.
    A citizen committee has been reviewing the RISD school facilities for the past year. They presented their recommendations to the board last summer, calling for the new facilities and upgrades. The board has been studying different ideas for the past year and is now ready to commit to the bond.
    In addition to the new JH/HS building the bond proposal also includes replacement of the baseball field and weight room along with the construction of a district softball field, a new VoAg facility, a larger PE gym at the elementary school, covered student drop off area at the elementary, refurbishing of the track, a new administration building and 2 new buses. Other projects may be addressed with remaining bond funds if the primary needs have been completed within budget.
